Foam Cleaning

The Tuffchem foam cleaning treatment is very effective for the removal of oil, dust, dirt, poplar fuzz, cottonwood seed, etc. The treatment is performed on-stream, requiring no shutdown time or cost and scheduling difficulties. On-stream treatment enables monitoring of actual cooling efficiency in the control room to determine the results which have been achieved.

With most air applications, airflow through the cooler could increase slightly, which does not necessarily mean an increase in heat transfer and efficiency. With the oil film still present, debris will collect faster, requiring more frequent cleaning and cost.

Should there be an abundance of fuzz, Tuffchem supplies an air blowing service prior to the foam treatment. This breaks up the fuzz and loosens debris, enabling the lift and carry properties of the foam to be even more effective. Air alone can remove some of the dirt and fuzz, but will not remove the oil that is normally present from exposure to the elements and normal process.

The foam treatment is low pressure and therefore will cause no damage to the fins and personnel during operation. It utilizes specially designed equipment ensuring consistent, controllable foam structures. This capability, coupled with cooler heat and proper monitoring, ensure total hot chemical contact and flow through the entire finned core, thus resulting in a superior cleaning. Another advantage of treating with foam is that the active chemical volumes is minimized and therefore generate less chemical waste.
